On this edition of In The Circle on Fastpitch News, we are joined by Florida State's Head Coach Lonni Alameda. Alameda has been the Head Coach at Tallahassee since 2009 guiding the Noles back to one of the powers of College Softball reaching the Women's College World Series twice in 2014 and 2016.

Coach Alameda discusses the outlook of the Seminoles in 2018. The Noles will be looking to continue the success in the ACC as the Noles have won the ACC conference regular season championship five straight seasons (2013-2017) and ACC Conference Tournament Championship four consecutive years (2014-2017).

Alameda talks about the new faces on this season Noles team including former All-American pitcher Kylee Hanson who comes over from Florida Atlantic as Hanson is attending graduate school at FSU.

We also discuss the growth in the ACC with the addition of Duke this season and the future addition of Clemson. Overall growth within the sport is addressed as well.

Coach has also been the Head Coach of the USSSA Pride the last two seasons and shares her thoughts on what it was like to coach Kelly Kretschman and other players on the Pride like Sierra Romero.

Finally, we talk about softball being back in the 2020 Summer Olympics and the impact it could have on the sport. We ask if she could see herself being part of Olympics in the future. Alameda coached with Team Canada Women's National Team from 2004 to 2008 helping Canada qualify for the Olympics in 2008.
