On this special edition of In The Circle, The guy's break down the developing story about Eastern Michigan announcing they were dropping Softball, Men's Swimming and Diving, Women's Tennis, and Wrestling. The move affects 58 male student-athletes and 25 female student-athletes, and once realized an expense reduction of approximately $2.4 million according to Eastern Michigan.

Eric talks one on one with Eastern Michigan's Head Coach Melissa Gentile who tells us how the news was broken to her and the players. We also discuss what is next for her and the players as they get set to start conference play. How do they handle the remainder of the season with the knowledge that program will not be around after the season ends? In this exclusive interview, Gentile describes the emotions of the few days and shares what lessons can be learned and how we can avoid this happening to other college softball programs in the future.

Also on this episode, Eric talks to Detroit Free Press's David Jesse who has been covering this story and gave details on the battle at EMU and what led to this decision and what the motive behind the move was.

Eric and Victor also discuss the fact that the MAC Conference mandates that Mac schools must play Football, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball and Volleyball to remain a member of the Mac conference. We discuss why Softball is not included and more.
